Education for Ministry is a four-year study and group reflection to support formation for ministry in daily life through the development of knowledge, attitude, skill and identity as Christians. Weekly preparation includes practice in the disciplines of listening and theological reflection.

Each year EfM begins with participants sharing their spiritual autobiographies, a concept which is usually brand new to many — to write about their spiritual lives, not only in the church but in all the varying corners of their experience.

The reading of Hebrew Scripture in the first year, the New Testament in the second, “The First 3,000 Years of Christianity” in the third, and finally the fourth year on the development of theology & ministry in one's life, requires serious reading time each week. The Reading & Reflection Guide (RRG) provides self-study suggestions and additional essays. There are also books are read together at 3 times during the year.
