St. Hilda's featured in inaugural Sunshine Coast Pride Guide

The inaugural issue of the Sunshine Coast Pride Guide is OUT!!!  And St. Hilda's was featured in Laurie McConnell's article called "A Place to Love".  We are listed among one of 4 churches on Sunshine Coast that are LGBTQ2-friendly and support LGBTQ2 couples as they celebrate their unions together.  

'Li [the Rector] tells of a lesbian couple who came to get married when Neil Fernyhough was the rector at St. Hilda's a number of years ago.  "The couple didn't know anyone and came alone to the Coast, so when Neil asked the congregation if anyone would attend as witnesses, most of the parish showed up to be the couple's 'family.'  They found it very moving and the Coast extremely welcoming."'

"There is still work to do," Li says.  "It is so easy to be self-congratulatory because it is so good here, but it is not good for everyone.  We need to do more for our single-family members, and expand our vision and dimension of love for greater inclusivity for the trans, genderqueer and differently abled among us."
