I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support in an important cause that is close to my heart. The SPCA in Sechelt, BC, is in urgent need of a new heat pump. Currently, the facility relies on a broken natural gas boiler, which puts immense stress on both the staff and the animals, especially during the freezing winter months.

Our Goal:  We aim to raise $10,000 to install a new heat pump at the SPCA. This installation will provide numerous benefits, including:

  • Reduction in GHG Emissions: A more environmentally friendly solution.
  • Lower Operating Costs: More funds can be directed toward animal care.
  • Cooling in Summer: Improved comfort for both animals and staff during hot months.
  • Reliability: A dependable heating system will ease the stress on everyone at the facility.

The Event:  As someone who loves being active and passionate about this cause, I have decided to cycle up and down the Lower Sunshine Coast, BC, to raise funds. On Thursday, July 25th, 2024, I will embark on a journey from Langdale to Earls Cove and back, covering over 170 km.

About Me:   I am currently working as a summer intern for the Sunshine Coast Community Solar Association. Our organization has proposed this heat pump installation as part of our ongoing efforts to support sustainable and environmentally friendly initiatives in our community.

How You Can Help:   You can contribute to this cause by donating to our fundraiser. Every contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in achieving our goal and ensuring the well-being of the animals and staff at the SPCA Sechelt.
