National Indigenous Peoples Day

June 21,2020 Indigenous Day of Prayer  Our first ever on Zoom! We were pleased to welcome our guest speaker from Toronto, Will Postma, Director of PWRDF (Primate's World Relief Development Fund), who offered the homily and an excellent presentation of PWRDF Indigenous justice initiatives, both in Canada and internationally, with a Q&A afterwards. Check out the PWRDF website for more information, especially on their award-winning program supporting Indigenous midwifery. In addition, we were especially honoured to have local indigenous friends join us sharing readings, prayers, and drumming song, Terry Aleck, Christine Turenne, Gayle MacDonald, Val Joe, Audrey Santiago, Bev and Frank Dixon. Thanks to Nancy and John Denham for their help planning and facilitating this meaningful celebration, to further reconciliation, understanding, and right relationship.
